The CVAA has created a pilot project alliance, the Community Infusion Alliance (CIA) and our first project purpose is:

• To develop best practice recommendations for KVO with the aim to prevent catheter occlusions related to infusion therapy to improve patient outcomes.

The first step is to determine current practice in dealing with Medication-Related Occlusion in Infusion Therapy in the Community Setting.  The results of the survey will be used to help CVAA develop recommendations on prevention and management of medication-related occlusions of vascular access devices.

Please respond only if you are actively preparing or administering infusion therapy in the community setting (i.e., home care, ambulatory care, clinic).
