CVAA AWARDS & GRANTS

Innovation Grant 2025

The Canadian Vascular Access Association (CVAA) is your voice for vascular access and infusion therapy in Canada. CVAA is committed to elevating the practice and influencing the future direction of vascular access and infusion therapy while advocating across the continuum of care in Canada. To assist in the development of current and emerging leaders, CVAA is proud to offer a new grant that encourages best clinical practice, research and data collection, knowledge integration/utilization, and leadership development as well as profiling and celebrating exemplary healthcare coaches and leaders.

CVAA is offering up to 4 (four) individual grants up to $500 CAD each for CVAA members pursuing a relevant project or initiative pertaining to vascular access and/or infusion therapy. Possible grant submissions include:
•    training aids
•    conference attendance
•    educational funding
•    certifications
•    research
•    publication costs
•    development of educational materials
•    offset costs for equipment/supplies

**CVAA reserves the right to alter and number or amount of the grant(s) awarded.

The online application form must be complete and must include the following:
    Statement including goals and objectives of project or initiative (what problem/gap it is intended to address; what is the desired goal/outcome; who will be involved/impacted, proposed method, timelines, what will success look like, and plans for monitoring/evaluation)
    Any relevant conflicts of interest or anticipated issues (e.g., employer policies)
    Relevance to clinical leadership (describe your specific role in the innovation and professional growth opportunity)
    Relevance to CVAA’s vision and mission and strategic priorities
    High level budget – how the funds will be used to support the innovation.

General Information/Eligibility
1.    Applicants must be CVAA members in good standing, both at the time of application and at the time the grant is presented.
2.    Applicants may only apply for one (1) award or grant per calendar year.
3.    Applicants who have received any CVAA award(s) or grant(s) twice or more in the past five (5) years are not eligible to apply.
4.    CVAA Board members are not eligible to apply.
5.    Priority will be given to those applicants who have not previously received awards or grants from CVAA or other sources.
6.    Proposals must reflect CVAA’s vision, mission, and strategic priorities. Visit www.cvaa.info to access the most current strategic plan.
7.    Priority will be given to those projects that have the greatest potential to influence vascular access and/or infusion therapy scope of practice.
8.    Each applicant must fully complete the online application and provide all other required components by the established deadline. Incomplete applications and those received past the established deadline will not be considered.
9.    The CVAA Board reviews all applications and the Executive Director, on behalf of the CVAA Board, will advise all applicants, via email, of the outcome of their application.
10.    Each successful recipient will be asked to provide a digital picture, full name and credentials, and brief biography for use as marketing and recognition on the CVAA website, communication, and social media.
11.    The CVAA Board reserves the right to not provide awards/grants if there are no qualified candidates.
12.    Successful recipient(s) must sign a Letter of Agreement specific to the grant received.
13.    Funds will not be provided until proof of purchase form the recipient(s).
14.    Successful recipient(s) must provide a brief report outlining how the funds were used.
