From The Cancer Nurses Association of Australia:
In 2021, we launched the first topic of the new CNSA Vascular Access Guidelines focused on patency, occlusion prevention and management. The second topic Vessel Health and Preservation incorporates device selection and difficult intravenous access through an oncology lens.
In collaboration with our VAD & IT Specialist Practice Network, we will officially launch these guidelines at this webinar.
Meet Our Speaker:
Kerrie Curtis is an RN with a Masters in Nursing (Cancer/Palliative Care) and is also a PhD Candidate at the University of Melbourne.
Kerrie is a cancer nurse who specialises in vascular access. She has worked in a wide variety of roles and settings including haematology/oncology, inpatient/ambulatory /home care, adult and paediatrics in both the public and private sectors.
Kerrie is the Chair of the CNSA Vascular Access Devices & Infusion Therapy Specialist Practice Network (VAD&IT SPN) and the Victorian Chapter Lead for the two peak national vascular access organisations - the Alliance for Vascular Access Teaching and Research (AVATAR) and the Australian Vascular Access Society. This all ties in with Kerrie’s PhD study investigating CVAD removal in patients with haematological malignancies in four hospitals in Melbourne.
