We are pleased to feature our new CVAA members and this week, we welcome Jolean Dyck from Prince Albert, SK!

I am currently working as a Clinical Nurse Educator in the ICU and PACU at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. It is a 100 bed community hospital that I have called home since 2005.
I became certified in Critical Care Nursing from the CNA in 2014 and have attended many critical care nursing conferences around Canada. This is where I first became introduced to CVAA.
I decided to join the CVAA for the best practice guidelines and many useful tools included in the membership. Being from a smaller center, it is the nursing and educator role to build policy and implement best practice especially around infusion therapy. I am also looking to implement a nurse-led PICC line insertion team which is not yet being done in Saskatchewan.
I am looking forward to networking and seeing what is up and coming when I attend the conference in Toronto.
On the home front, I am married with two busy boys aged 8 and 12. We spend a lot of time outside dirt biking and snowmobiling. We also have a cabin in Northern Saskatchewan where we enjoy quiet seclusion and great fishing.
See you soon in Toronto!
