Recognizing Excellence in the Practice of Infusion Therapy

The CVAA Board of Directors are pleased to announce the winners of the first CVAA/BD Excellence in Infusion Therapy Award 2014! The award recognizes the efforts that healthcare professionals make every day in infusion therapy practice, focusing on peripheral IV therapy. The Call for Nominations went out in November, 2013.
The purpose of the award is to promote safety and quality improvement in peripheral IV infusion practices for optimal patient outcomes; recognize champions and trailblazers in Canadian infusion practice and raise the awareness of the impact of individual contributions to system wide results.
We received a great number of qualified and exemplary candidates and the nominations were blindly reviewed by a committee of CVAA Board Members and a BD liaison. There are three regional awards for recognition and from these regional winners, the national recipient has been identified
We are very pleased to announce the following recipients:
Regional
· West (BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba) – Tami Jemson
· Central (Ontario, Bermuda) – Kristin Goncalves
· East (Quebec and Maritime provinces) – France Paquet
National
· Tami Jemson
The regional and national recipient(s) will receive an education grant of $500 and $1000 respectively, to be used for conference registration or educational pursuit.
