January 25, 2021, is the 5th annual Canadian Vascular Access & Infusion Therapy Day! We are so happy to celebrate our members and clinicians for the work they do every day in vascular access and infusion therapy. This year's theme is ONE ACCESS: THE RIGHT ONE FROM THE START. We challenged our members and chapters to explore what this means to them and how they will be celebrating this day:

Bermuda - Demar Thompson and Alien Guilas-Frias share a video discussing the need for the right access:

PEI - The team at Prince County Hospital with the PEI CVAA Chapter share how they are celebrating today with this flyer and A-Z tips presentation and this video:

Nova Scotia - At the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, N.S., the commitment to evidence-based practice is demonstrated by the nurse-lead vascular access program. Since its development in 2015, the utilization of latest equipment/technology and application of best practice guidelines (CVAA, Canadian Vascular Access and Infusion Therapy Guidelines © 2019) has led to positive outcomes in that patient population, with 90% requiring IV access. The commitment of the clinician in the evolving specialty of vascular access is demonstrated through national CVAA(c) Certification and continued education.
