Hello!
For those new to CVAA, my name is Melissa Stark and I am CVAA's Executive Director. I have been since CVAA since 2012 and am based in Hamilton, Ontario. Part of my recent professional development included pursuing the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE) designation program. Over the last three years, I have been completing five courses and recently passed the Certified Association Executive (CAE®) exam. 

Last week, I attended the CSAE Trillium Winter Summit - a conference providing education and networking for those working in associations. It was a valuable two days and here is a snippet of what I learned:

• Tangible ways to make our upcoming conference more SUSTAINABLE
• How important it is to develop our membership value proposition
• The power of the "story" in sharing with members
• The changing landscape of federal compliance for not-for-profits
• That while it's just me at CVAA, I am not alone - the association executive world is wide and vibrant and I made several great connections

I'm excited to take my learnings back to CVAA and continue to work to better this valuable association.
