In our New Member Spotlight feature,
we introduce you to some of the newest members to join CVAA. Meet Michael!
What is your current role/institution?
Interventional
Neuroradiology Nurse at the Montreal Neurological Institute.
Where are you located in Canada?
Montreal, Quebec
Why did you join CVAA?
To take advantage of all the
resources and readings available, as well as keeping up to date with all the
best practice guidelines regarding vascular access.
What features of membership are you looking forward to
utilizing?
Most of the resources and libraries available on the website, as
well as the upcoming conference!
Do you plan to attend the 2020 CVAA national conference
in Toronto?
Yes
Are you considering writing the CVAA(c) certification
exam?
Eventually!
Why are you passionate about vascular access/infusion
therapy?
We do quite a bit of intravenous insertions in Radiology, as most
CT/MRI scans require contrast injections. Typically, the medical technologists
perform most of the insertions. However, when they are met with a challenging
one, we are often consulted. Albeit our numbers of intravenous insertions are
less, we are always presented with the most challenging ones.
What are you most looking forward to this year (personal
life)?
Getting married!
