Education Grant 2026
The Canadian Vascular Access Association (CVAA) is your voice for vascular access and infusion therapy in Canada. CVAA is committed to elevating the practice and influencing the future direction of vascular access and infusion therapy while advocating across the continuum of care in Canada. To assist in the development of current and emerging leaders, CVAA is proud to offer a new grant that encourages the pursuit of education impacting vascular access and infusion therapy care.
CVAA is offering up to $2,000 CAD for CVAA member(s) enrolled full-time or part-time in an undergraduate nursing program OR graduate program in nursing or another healthcare-related discipline with a focus on an aspect of vascular access and/or infusion therapy.
**CVAA reserves the right to alter and number or amount of the grant(s) awarded.
The online application form must be complete and must include the following:
- Proof of current enrollment in an undergraduate/graduate program.
- A statement (500 word maximum) describing professional goals and objectives, how the course of study will help to achieve these goals and objectives, and how this will help to advance the quality of care for patients receiving vascular access and/or infusion therapy.
- Two (2) reference letters - at least one (1) reference must provide support for the applicant’s leadership activities in the educational program and have the ability to speak to the applicant’s leadership potential, professional performance and/or educational aptitude.
- Current Curriculum Vitae (CV) profiling the applicant’s clinical experience and education activities.
Applications must be submitted by October 15, 2026
Eligible Education:
- Core undergraduate nursing courses or graduate level courses leading to a Master's degree or PhD in nursing or related discipline, and provided by an accredited college or university.
- Courses that lead to a related specialty certificate and provided by an accredited college or university.
- Professional development courses and workshops, delivered in Canada, in clinical, management or leadership areas with a focus on vascular access and/or infusion therapy and that are three (3) days or more in duration.
- The course must meet CVAA eligibility rules and is subject to CVAA priorities.
- Applicants must be registered with a professional college (regulated health professional) and entitled to practice without restrictions both at the time of their application and while participating in the education program.
General Information/Eligibility
- Applicants must be CVAA members in good standing, both at the time of application and at the time the grant is presented.
- Applicants may only apply for one (1) award or grant per calendar year.
- Applicants who have received any CVAA award(s) or grant(s) twice or more in the past five (5) years are not eligible to apply.
- Current CVAA Board members are not eligible to apply.
- Priority will be given to those applicants who have not previously received awards or grants from CVAA or other sources.
- Each applicant must fully complete the online application and provide all other required components by the established deadline. Incomplete applications and those received past the established deadline will not be considered.
- The CVAA Board reviews all applications and the Executive Director, on behalf of the CVAA Board, will advise all applicants, via email, of the outcome of their application.
- Each successful recipient will be asked to provide a digital picture, full name and credentials, and brief biography for use as marketing and recognition on the CVAA website, communication, and social media.
- The CVAA Board reserves the right to not provide awards/grants if there are no qualified candidates.
- Successful recipient(s) must sign a Letter of Agreement specific to the grant received.
